AMI’s 12th Thin Wall Packaging conference will take place from 4-6 December 2017 in Cologne, Germany.

The conference looks at storage and functionality of plastics materials in protecting and preserving items such as meat, yoghurt, margarine, fruit and vegetables, dairy, sh, soup, and ready meals.

This year’s programme looks at innovations in material science, juxtaposing traditional and new materials used for thin wall packaging conversion as well as the latest developments in technology, improving sustainability and the latest in decoration technology.

The TWP industry continues to answer market demand for added- value packaging for long- life applications. Packaging suppliers and end- users are presented with a range of barrier technologies to suit their operational needs.

Ready meals are a segment of high growth, which triggers innovation in the use of microwave technologies. Microwave pasteurisation, sterilisation and shielding are new concepts that will affect the demand for TWP in the future. Single serve capsules are also a segment of high growth, which triggers innovation that will affect the TWP industry in the future.

    • High-efficiency triple flow cooling air ring
    • Automatic measuring and control system for thickness profile
    • Double bubble guiding cages system
    • Oscillating haul-off 2800 mm with flattening and lateral guide devices, sintered bars and torque motorization
    • Web center guide
    • Back-to-back ESR central/gap winder 2800 with torque motorization and anti-stick treatment for rollers
    • Extruder regranulator for trimmed edge re-use
    • Line control with Bandera IoE Internet of Extrusion® software
